I don’t recall ever hearing of See’s Candies until last week. However, I recently learned that I have seen it on TV many times without realizing it: Remember the “I Love Lucy” episode where Lucy and Ethel cause mayhem in the candy factory? That was an actual See’s Candies factory!
Many wonderful employees helped to make last evening a delight for me, my daughter (she was my guest) and other bloggers from the area. Diana Moran, Regional Manager, greeted us at the door with a beautiful smile. Natalie Brown, Brand Manager, enthusiastically shared background information about the company. Store Manager, Ezequiel, diligently oversaw the running of the shop and rang up purchases. Lynette, a member of the Support Team, showed us her expertise at packing candy boxes…(She really knows what she’s doing!). Marcy, a Sales Associate, graciously assisted us with our sales/sampling requests.
What I happily noticed, last night, is that customers are considered part of the See’s Candies family from the time they enter until they exit the shop. That was what Charles Sees intended when he opened the first See’s Candies 91 years ago. He did so with family in mind…his mother Mary Sees created many of the See’s Candies recipes and her kitchen decor inspired the decor of each See’s Candies shop.
Friday, October 12, at 9:30 am is when the Grand Opening of See’s Candies, Willowbrook Mall begins. There will be games and opportunities to sample their delicious products. Don’t just take my word for it, visit the shop and sample for yourself. I believe you’ll be “Sweet” on the idea of satisfying your chocolate cravings at See’s Candies once you give it a try!
