The Foundation for Coloring Away Pain—Help Newtown’s Children Deal With Their Grief

In light of yesterday’s events in Newtown, Connecticut, I’d like to share information that my dear cousin had on her facebook page, today:

My friend from high school has an organization that creates coloring books for children to cope with different life situations. She is getting ready to ship out her grief coloring books to the children of Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. The character in the coloring book is an elephant. If you would like to help sponsor sending a stuffed elephant for $10 along with the coloring books, please contact Kim at The Foundation for Coloring Away Pain.”
My cousin then went on to share what her friend, (who runs the organization) wrote:
“There are no words to express following the horrific tragedy in CT. It is difficult to try, in a rational mind, to comprehend and make sense of such an irrational and senseless act. Thoughts of the children and their families flood my brain as prayers leave my lips. I cannot imagine the horror of the victims, the parents waiting for word, and those who survived to tell the story. In light of the nature of this tragedy, FCAP will be sending stuffed elephants to those affected along with our grief book. If you would like to sponsor an elephant ($10), please inbox me. Stuffed elephants were sent following the CO movie theater shooting and the grief counselors were very happy to receive them along with the coloring books for the children affected.”
